Mustapha Ratib - For North Stonington Town Treasurer
For the past 16 years, Mustapha Ratib has made his home in North Stonington with his wife Lisbeth and their two daughters, Nadia and Gemma, who attend Wheeler High School.
Mustapha is a federally licensed Enrolled Agent Registered to represent his clients when working with the IRS for a variety of issues (i.e. representation during audits). Mustapha started his own local finance and accounting firm, ’Mustapha Ratib LLC. He helps small businesses and individuals simplify their back-office functions through
- accounting services,
- comprehensive accounts payable and receivable services,
- budget and forecasting
- financial reporting
- all aspects of payroll services (reconciliation, payroll taxes, contributions to healthcare savings accounts and retirement plans).
Prior to moving to North Stonington, he worked as a Financial Investment Manager (FIM) at State Street Bank in Boston for 8 years. Upon moving to CT he worked for SS&C, a Hedge Fund Investment company in Windsor, CT.
During his 10 years of service on the Board of Finance, he spearheaded making the budget more transparent, undertaking a significant project to review the internal controls for processes and procedures for handling the finances of North Stonington. During his previous tenure as Town Treasurer to ensure effective communication, collaboration and reconciliation. Mustapha’s experiences have prepared him to understand the intricacies of the position and how to best serve our community.
